Week Long Events on at Ballon Village including workshops, tours, exhibitions, wild child day and BBQ.

Publication of online resource of Ballon Wildflowers by Michael Martin. Nature and gardening book display and sale at Siopa Glas, Main Street, Ballon. Local Nature Photographic display in the Forge Restaurant, Kilbride and Café de Mode, Chapel St, Ballon. Self-guided nature walks around Slí na Sceach (Hedgerow way) at the Forge, Kilbride Cross.

Heritage-Week-Manning-Robinson

Manning Robertson

20th August, 2pm – 3:30pm.
Huntington Castle and Gardens, Co. Carlow

Manning Robertson: The Father of Town Planning. This event will feature a tour/talk by Sean O’Leary Director of the Irish Planning Institute on Manning as the key figure in early Irish town planning.

The talk will give visitors some context of the town planning in the emergent free state as well as discussing the man himself, his groundbreaking ideas and legacy. The Castle will be open every day throughout heritage week, and tours will have a particular emphasis on Manning but the talk from Sean will be on Sunday 20th only.
