Borris House point-to-point is set amongst the picturesque Blackstairs Mountains, on the grounds of the beautiful Borris House which is one of the few intact living estates that can trace its history back to Brehon times, and the royal ruling families of ancient Ireland.

The Kavanagh Family very generously allow the Carlow Farmers to run two point-to-point fixtures a year, one in the Autumn and one in the Spring.

Point-to-points are horse racing in its purist form and you will often hear it described as the grassroots of horse racing in Ireland.

This is because unlike the racing you may see on television which takes place at permanent racecourses like Leopardstown, point-to-point racing takes place at what are effectively pop-up courses right around the country.

Borris House point-to-point is the perfect day out for all the family in the Irish countryside and where you will get to witness the future stars of the racing industry make their introduction into competitive racing.

Our venue offers spectacular viewing facilities for race-goers. Spectators can get right up close to the horses, watch them being saddled before being paraded in the ring.

Unlike most racecourses, spectators can stand beside one of the fences and feel the power of the horses as they jump a fence in full flight or get close to the winning post for a bird eye view of the thrilling action.

The track is also the perfect location for a picnic from the boot of your car where you can enjoy the action whilst entertaining friends and family!

We provide a disability parking area with fence viewing on the home straight.

Our portaloos are located close to the parade ring for all to use.

In our bookmakers ring you can view and bet on any off-course races on the day in both England and Ireland.

Make sure to bring the kids and visit Santas Grotto, we will also have a Christmas Market for those looking to pick up some gifts.

Food Stalls

Our outside catering vendor has a variety of catering options from burgers and rolls to different chip combinations.

Our second catering vendor sells a tasty array of buns, muffins and tray bakes.

Racegoers have a variety of options.

There will be an on-site coffee unit which serves delicious coffees and a selection of other hot drinks and minerals.

Our other on-site caterer will also have a wide range of refreshments on offer.
