Your Headliner for the night is Fred Cooke He currently presents the hugely successful Tommy Tiernan Show on RTE, but over the years you may have spotted this Ed Sheeran-lookalike in shows such as ‘The Republic of Telly’, ‘The Fear’ and a stunning 4 minute appearance (2 of which he played dead) in BBC’s comedy-drama ‘Vexed’, presently streaming on Netflix.
Aside from his stellar performance in the iconic Spar ads back in the noughties, Fred is best known for being one of the most well-known and highly regarded comedians on the Irish comedy circuit today.
“I love Fred, he has the real spirit of the Clown in him”. Tommy Tiernan
Edwin Sammon’s unpredictable and immensely likeable style saw audiences award him the Tedfest Golden Toilet Duck in 2011 for best comedian. On TV screens he took over the news desk co-presenting and writing on Republic Of Telly and currently can be seen as Fr. Gabriel in the IFTA award-winning Bridget and Eamon , which is now in its fourth series.
“Sharply written…brilliantly performed” — Totally Dublin
Support on the night comes from Kevin Larney and Jason Brennan
Co-Host of the Shite Talk Irish History podcast and resident MC of Underground Comedy in Dublin’s International Bar, Jason has performed all across Europe, the UK, and America. He’s brought sell out shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and supported acts like Sam Tallent and Mark Normand.
