This year Carlow Fringe Arts Festival will take place 29th July  – 3rd August 2026, the focus is on Community & Creativity.

Event History

The Carlow Fringe Arts Festival takes inspiration from Éigse—derived from the Old Irish word Eces, meaning poet. This in the Carlow context has come to evoke the poetry of Carlow in all its forms: written, spoken, sung, danced, painted, carved, kilned and cut.   

Building on this tradition, Fringe brings music, visual art and creative energy to the heart of Carlow town, celebrating the county’s culture, its history, landscape and people.
