A fantastic opportunity to experience and explore the rich heritage of Carlow takes place on Saturday, April 18th as part of the Carlow Heritage Seminar 2026.

This guided coach tour, arranged by the Heritage Office of Carlow County Council will explore some of Carlow’s most fascinating sites. These include the following; 

Newtown Church – a stunning Gothic-revival church dating from c.1830. The church features beautiful stained glass and intricate plasterwork on the ceilings reputably prepared by Italian artisans working close by in Fenagh House at the time. 

Tinryland and its surrounds – an area with over 5,000 years of history, from ancient settlements to stories of rebellion and rural electrification. 

Clonmelsh Cemetery – a remarkable historic site linked to the ancestors of Walt Disney and the Butler Family.
