Following on from three very successful competitions held in Carlow, Ireland in 2025, both WBL and IBSF are pleased to announce that a true Festival of Billiards is coming to the Snooker Billiards Ireland Academy of excellence in 2026.
The WBL Irish Open will run from Friday April 17th to Sunday April 19th, immediately followed by the World Matchplay Championship from Monday 20th April to Friday April 24th. The IBSF 2026 World Billiards Championship will be played from April 24th – 28th.
Both WBL and the IBSF are very thankful to Snooker and Billiards Ireland for agreeing to host these world class competitions. These competitions, which will be run independently by WBL and IBSF, once again offer the world’s finest billiards players an opportunity to make one journey only to compete in a true festival of billiards over an intense 12 days of competition.
World champions from India, Singapore and England will be joined by players from New Zealand, Australia, France, Austria, Canada, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Belgium and many more in these very keenly fought battles on the baize.
