Where better to gather stories than The Library, a place already filled with whispers from the past? During Samhain Festival 25, The Library becomes a hive of eerie creativity, curious creatures and spellbinding tales – with events for little monsters and grown-up ghosts alike.
Kids can dive into a full day of spooky storytelling and art-making at the Halloween Art Camp with Jean Robertson or don their costumes and cook up creepy treats in the Halloween Kids Cooking Classes with food educator and cookbook author Deirdre from the Cool Food School – think chocolate apple mummies and more!
Feeling brave? Meet slithering creatures up close in Dave’s Halloween Jungle or craft your very own eerie companion in the Clay Monster Workshop with artist Liga Valge. For those drawn to darker stories, Spooky Musical Tales with Ali brings songs and stories to life – costumes welcome.
And for those who like their Samhain grounded in reality, archaeologist Caoimhe Ní Thóibín’s talk, From Murder to Miscarriage, uncovers the secrets buried in ancient bones, from mysterious traumas to long-lost lives.
With free, family-friendly events across several Carlow branches, The Library invites you to explore the strange, the spooky and the wonderfully creative side of Samhain.
Come for the stories. Stay for the surprises…
