Join one of Ireland’s most iconic bands, The Furey’s for their final County Carlow performance as part of their national Furey’s Farewell Tour in the Woodford Dolmen Hotel, Carlow.
Legends of Irish music, The Furey’s are celebrated for timeless hits including I Will Love You, When You Were Sweet Sixteen, The Green Fields of France, The Old Man, Red Rose Café and many more.
Eddie Furey, the eldest of the brothers, left home in 1966 to travel to Scotland during the great folk revival, where he shared accommodation with then-unknown folk singers Billy Connolly and Gerry Rafferty. In 1972, Gerry Rafferty wrote Her Father Didn’t Like Me Anyway for Eddie, which BBC Radio 1 presenter John Peel later named his Single of the Year.
The Furey’s’ UK chart success with I Will Love You and When You Were Sweet Sixteen helped bring Irish folk music to a whole new audience. The band made their Top of the Pops debut in 1981 and continue to touch hearts with songs that stir laughter, tears, joy and nostalgia.
