Join artist and organiser Kate O’Shea for a hands-on zine making workshop using printmaking and collage techniques.
We often accumulate traces of our daily lives: scraps, notes, photos. These are not waste; they are the living archive of how and why we collect things. Participants are asked to bring fragments such as material scraps, notes and sketches, clippings, photographs or any materials that you hold on to.
We will use printmaking, collage, and layering techniques to transform these remnants into zines/handmade booklets of stories, memory and transformation.
Kate O’Shea’s exhibition Mycelium is at the centre of the Summer season at VISUAL. Kate’s socially engaged practice spans printmaking, archiving, installation, performance and publishing, with an emphasis on collaboration and building networks of solidarity. Mycelium brings together textiles, sculpture, sound and artist-made books in an immersive installation.
