Heritage Week Carlow 15th -23rd August 2020

August 15 @ 9:00 am - August 23 @ 5:00 pm

Heritage Week Carlow 15th -23rd August 2020

National Heritage Week, Carlow 15th -23rd August 2020 is run in conjunction with the Heritage Council and Local libraries, community groups, museums and historical societies. Carlow County Library will have a list of activities and events taking place throughout County Carlow on their website. The majority of events will be free admission and is a great way to explore our heritage and cultural history in a very relaxed and informal manner. It brings together communities and cultural institutions, academics and enthusiasts, to build awareness about the value of heritage and support its conservation.

Each year, during the third week of August, many national and hundreds of local community organisations participate by organising events throughout the country. Many of the events that take place during the week are free and the programme highlights the abundance of great work that is carried out in all communities in Ireland to preserve and promote our natural, built and cultural heritage. Activities range from fairs, night time bat walks, wildlife tours and lectures to music recitals, historic re-enactments and outdoor activities
