About the Carlow Town E-Bike Scheme
This E-bike scheme provides a more sustainable alternative to car usage whilst also enabling a convenient and safe means of transport around Carlow Town.
How the E-Bike Scheme Works

Such locations include, but are not limited to, SETU Campus, Carlow Bus Park, Carlow Train Station, Seven Oaks Hotel, The Talbot Hotel, Woodford Dolmen Hotel and Fairgreen Shopping Centre.
The fee for hiring an E-bike is €0.18 per minute. The renting process is completed by downloading the BOLT app from the Google Play Store. The customer simply enters their card details tied to their account. The bikes are only for the use of individuals over the age of 18.

Unlock with the Bolt App: Use the BOLT app to unlock an e-bike and start your ride.
Park Responsibly: Once you finish your trip, park your e-bike in a designated area shown in the BOLT app.
Where can E-Bikes be Used?
The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The E-Bikes are geo-tagged and can operate within a designated area in Carlow Town only.
There is a ‘beginner mode’ which limits the top speed of the bicycle to 15 km/h. Once ‘beginner mode’ is turned off, the bicycle has a maximum speed of 25 km/h.
There are go-slow zones (where speed is limited to 15 km/h), as well as no-go zones, where the e-bikes are prohibited.
