Eloquently described as an oasis of peace and tranquillity, Delta Sensory Gardens consist of a series of interconnecting gardens of a multi-sensory nature, covering 2.5 acres on the outskirts of Carlow Town. Stroll and admire the beautiful limestone sculptures throughout the gardens, bask in the tranquillity of the water features and marvel at the one–tonne of pink marble floating on a cushion of water. Visitors can delight in a mix of formal and informal landscapes. The gardens offer something for every season, from thousands of daffodils and tulips in spring, to the abundant double flowering gorse in summer and the rustic colour of trees and beech hedges in autumn and winter.
The gardens also boast amazing water features that will take your breath away, such as splashing fountains, cascading waterfalls and the kugal, a one tonne sculpture of pink marble floating on a cushion of water. Delta Centre also has a garden centre that stocks seasonal plants all year around, especially summer months with bedding plants and hanging baskets. You can leave in your own baskets and containers to be filled by the friendly qualified horticulturalists in Delta Sensory Gardens, who can offer good advice and tips for your garden.
There is also a very popular Café Thyme attached to the sensory gardens, a spacious 50+ seater restaurant catering for all size groups. We serve breakfast Monday to Friday and our very extensive and ever changing healthy, tasty, and unique lunch menu is served seven days. Daily we produce fresh and deliciously different flavoured scones and breads to eat in or take away. And not forgetting our sweet treats to enjoy with our popular coffee.
Delta Sensory Gardens also offer the perfect setting for photos of any special events such as wedding day ceremonies, communions and confirmations.
