Sugar & Spice Café at Altamont Plant Sales

This café provides comfort and refreshment in the beautiful setting of the walled Garden in Altamont, offering delightful home baked cakes and scones with freshly brewed tea and coffee. Light snacks including sandwiches and salads in the summer months. Open end of January to October daily 10.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. and weekends, weather permitting in November and December.

The Old Post Office

The Old Post Office on High Street in Bagenalstown was originally built in 1915 and operated as a working post office up until 2003. In late 2023, early 2024 Denis and Laura Mullin tastefully renovated and restored the building and opened a cafe offering breakfast, lunch and delicious all day brunch options in April 2024. The Old Post Office is perfectly situated on Hight Street, a short stroll from the River Barrow and perfect for a coffee pit stop. The building is also buggy and wheelchair friendly with baby changing facilities and a wheelchair accessible toilet. The building also features an outdoor seating area and small courtyard garden. Open Tues-Sat, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Flynn’s Spar Garage

Established in 1924, Flynns of Tullow is a 72 seat foodhall complete with Supermac’s family restaurant and Papa John’s Pizza. It also includes a Texaco forecourt, Spar shop with insomnia coffee, Smooch ice cream mini parlour, off licence, ATM, Wi-Fi, toilets and lottery all under one roof. 140 car parking spaces are shared with Aldi while the forecourt includes a brush wash, self-serve cabinet, wash and vacuum.
