Carlow Town is convenient to the major entry points into Ireland, with Dublin, Dun Laoghaire and Rosslare ferryports and Dublin and Waterford Airports all within easy reach of Carlow. Dublin is 84km (53 miles), Rosslare Ferryport is 91km (56 miles) and Waterford Airport is 89km (56 miles) from Carlow Town centre.
AIR: Dublin Airport is a convenient 60 minute drive on continuous motorway via the M50, M7 and M9 with all international airlines serving the capital city.Waterford Airport is a 70 minute drive via the R708, R680, R448, R683, N9 and M9 and N80.

RAIL: Eight services operate to Carlow Town from Dublin Heuston

BUS: Bus Eireann operate nine services to Waterford and Dublin Monday – Saturday with five services to Dublin and seven services to Waterford each Sunday. JJ Kavanagh™s serves Carlow Town, IT Carlow and Royal Oak, Bagenalstown 12 times per day from Dublin Airport (coach park) and Dublin City (outside Ulster Bank, Georges Quay). The company provides an inter-county service between Carlow, Tullow, Rathvilly, Baltinglass and Hacketstown as well as a Carlow-Portlaoise route via Athy, and Carlow-Kilkenny twice daily. All returning passengers should assemble at the coach park, Barrack Street, Carlow with the exception of the 2.40 a.m., 4.40 a.m., 6 a.m., 6.45 a.m. and 7.45 a.m. services which leave from Deaneâs Shop, Barrack Street.
