County Carlow St Patricks Day Parades

St Patrick’s Day Parades – throughout County Carlow
Ireland’s national feast day is celebrated throughout County Carlow with a series of parades in honour of St Patrick. Saint Patrick being the patron saint and national apostle of Ireland. Parades take place in Carlow Town, Graiguecullen, Bagenalstown, Ballon, Graiguenamanagh, Tullow, Borris and Killeshin.

Graiguecullen: 10.a.m – 10.30 a.m. Leaves Carlow Town Park at 10 a.m. before travelling to Graiguecullen Parish Church car park.

Bagenalstown: Bagenalstown St Patricks Day parade will start at 1 p.m. sharp at McGrath proceeding along the Royal Oak Road, Station Road, Long Range, Regent Street, Main Street before finally finishing at the reviewing stand at Market Square.

Borris: 1.30 p.m.

Carlow Town: 2 – 5 p.m. – following the festival parade an afternoon of music and entertainment is promised at Potato Market in the centre of Carlow Town. Main stage will feature ‘Zak Same and the Similars’. The winner of the St Patrick’s day Carlow song will also be performing. Follow Facebook and Instagram for more detials.

Tullow: 2.p .m. The parade in Tullow will begin from the Dublin Road, with the man himself, St Patrick, leading the parade down through the town. There are some great prizes for floats and entrants in the parade. As well as the parade, numerous activities and entertainment are promised on the day.

Ballon: 3.30 – 4.30 p.m. Starts on the Bunclody Road and travels through the village of Ballon past the viewing stand and continues through the village to Ballykealey Lane, before turning and travels back up through the village.
