The gardens at Burtown come to life in late January with a spectacular show of winter aconites, said to be the largest gathering in Ireland and the UK. They are swiftly followed by large swathes of naturalised snowdrops, throughout the gardens, parkland, front avenue and woodland. With many varieties on view Burtown has also recently planted a more specialised snowdrop bed. This is one of the most interesting times to visit the gardens at Burtown as there are many varieties of hellebore, cyclamen, trilliums and daffodils to name a few.
