Nestled in the rolling countryside of Carlow, overlooked by Mount Leinster, Gorse Farm is a small, certified organic farm dedicated to growing food in harmony with nature. Blending traditional hands-on methods with modern biological practices, the farm produces seasonal, nutrient-rich crops while actively restoring soil health and supporting habitats and biodiversity. Visitors to the farm can experience a deep, intentional and connected way of farming – where hedgerows hum with wildlife, the land is carefully stewarded, and sustainability is at the heart of every decision. Gorse Farm offers an authentic glimpse into the future of Irish agriculture: local, resilient, and deeply rooted in place.
Produce
We supply a range of fresh organic produce to local SuperValu stores, including our
signature mixed salad leaves and nutrient-dense microgreens. Our salad bags bring together a seasonal mix of lettuces, mild oriental leaves, herbs, and edible flowers, with each bag offering a unique combination of flavours and textures. Our microgreens are grown for both taste and nutrition, adding freshness, colour, and vitality to everyday meals. All produce is harvested, packed, and delivered on the day it is picked to ensure maximum freshness.
Farm Gate Honesty Box
Our farm gate honesty box is open throughout the summer season, offering a generous selection of freshly harvested produce straight from the field. You can expect crops such as tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, along with other seasonal offerings. It’s a simple, self-service way to experience the farm and enjoy what is growing at its peak.
Farm Walks & Tours
We offer small, bespoke farm walks and tours by appointment, providing an opportunity to see how a working organic market garden operates through the seasons. These visits give an insight into crop planning, soil health, biodiversity, and the day-to-day realities of growing food in a regenerative way. Whether you’re a grower, a food enthusiast, or simply curious, each visit is shaped by the time of year and what’s happening on the farm.
