Join us for a rewarding mountain adventure in the heart of the Blackstairs Mountains, starting and finishing at Ballycrystal. This 12km circular walk takes participants through some of the most scenic and historic landscapes in the region, with stunning views throughout the day.
Led by an experienced guide from Mountain Adventures, the route gradually ascends to a height of 795 metres, offering panoramic vistas across Carlow, Wexford and beyond. Along the way, walkers will visit the fascinating Moats of Craan, a remarkable archaeological feature steeped in local history, before continuing through areas rich in natural beauty and upland habitat.
The walk also passes the iconic Turfcutters Shed, a reminder of the traditions and heritage associated with life on the mountains. Extensive forestry sections provide shelter and contrast to the open mountain terrain, creating a varied and enjoyable route.
